Rockets lose to Spurs, 9 games left in the stretch

Following today’s 109-88 mauling by the Spurs, the Rocks are 3-4 following their record setting 22 game winning streak.

There’s not much to speak about today’s game: Scola and Landry showed why there is still hope for the Rockets; T-Mac’s shoulder and Rafer’s reversion to poor shooting showed why there is worry.

Nine games left in the season, with the Rockets looking like they have at least a playoff spot sown up but which one remains to be seen. They are 4.5 games ahead of ninth place Golden State (going into tonights late game of the stumbling Mavs vs. the Warriors), 4 games over Denver and 3.5 over Dallas.

Of the nine remaining games, six are on the road but only three (Phoenix at home, Denver and Utah on the road) are against playoff teams.

Landry and Scola look to be in playoff form, but T-Mac, Rafer and Battier will have to shake off the aches of the season and play like they did in the streak to make the possibility of home court in the first round a reality.
