Both plot points are (vague;y) addressed in the movie.

Loki remarks that he can "only guess how much dark matter energy the Allfather had to gather" to sned Thor to Earth without the Bifrost bridge. Travel between realms isn't impossible, just very difficult. Also, it was a plot point in Thor's own movie that Loki could get people in and out of Asgard without using the Bifrost, and without Heimdall knowing.

The out-of-control Hulk chasing Black Widow through the Helicarrier is somewhat assumed to be a byproduct of Loki's manipulations. Also, the Hulk acts out at what angers him, and in that sequence, Banner/Hulk was angry at the Widow for manipulating him onto the Helicarrier. In the final battle, Hulk was angry at Loki and his Chitauri.

I've also heard that there are TWO clips after the credits; we only saw the one, with what we assume was the next movie's villain (details at http://www.nextmovie.com/blog/avengers-after-credits/). Will have to watch closer for second credit clip!

My father (AAC, 340th Group Communications) spent the previous night at Bari Harbor during WWII in transit to Foggia. While there, he went to a fine opera house and enjoyed walking around the charming town. He left the morning of the raid while still dark out, raining so hard it was like pouring water out of a boot. When he reconnected with his Group, he was informed about the raid and that they had feared for his life. A fully-loaded British munitions ship had been hit , which set off a chain reaction of explosions nearly blowing the town off the map. I hope to soon retrace a large part of his WWII travels, and Bari Harbor is a must. Good luck with your novel! My father recounted his WWII experiences in LUCK OF THE ALBATROSS: AN AMERICAN SOLDER'S EPIC OF WORLD WAR II (hardback, PO Box 972,, Tellico Plains, TN 37385). Now to check out all you've written!

Back in 1987 when he first published Never on My Knees, Mr. Webb came to the newspaper where I worked as a cub reporter. He was going to be at a book signing at the Noxubee County Library in Macon, site of the Dancing Rabbit Creek treaty, so I interviewed him since Macon was part of my beat.

Mr. Webb started Bokhoma House and self published Never on My Knees because he couldn't garner any interest from the traditional publishing houses. This was his first novel; he was a retired contractor and took up writing as a second career. He was 75 when I met him; I don't know if he's still alive.
